Dublin Core

Title

"Song Dynasty Silk Robes"

Subject

Chinese Silk

Description

Chinese silk, like that made during the Northern Song Dynasty, was one of the many luxury goods traded along the Silk Roads networks. Luxury goods were brought from their original home in Imperial China and ultimately ended up in cities farther west, like Constantinople. The high demand and high price of these goods meant that they sometimes ended up as far west as Western Europe.
